Spidey's Birthday

Adele has named all the kids' hands in the family and has given them personalities. They are kind of like imaginary friends, only they are hands.  And they aren't imaginary.

Ian's hands: Knife and Balloon Bug
Elise's hands: Buggy and Dinkel
Emilia's hands: Spidey and Glonky.

Today is Spidey's birthday. Here is the card she made. Happy Birthday Spidey.

Pioneer Day

Our ward has a tradition of having a ward breakfast on Pioneer Day every year.  We always have a good time visiting with our friends in the ward and seeing people we don't really often bump into at church.  I was excited that Adele wanted to wear the fabulous pioneer bonnet that I made several years ago.  She took it one step farther and wore a dress-up skirt that is long and sort of looks "pioneery".  She looked so cute.
After the breakfast we headed over to the parade and watched Emilia march with her middle school band.  She's the flute player with the white hat. I have been very impressed with how much her band has progressed since they started 2 years ago.  They have been recognized for being an excellent middle school band and were even asked by the new superintendent to perform for her at a special meeting before school started.  She, and the other district people were very impressed with how good they are.

Magic Erasers

Had to buy some more Magic Erasers.  This girl likes to have things repeated and reinforced.  Someday she will stop doing this.  Right?  RIGHT???

Girl's Camp 2013 Heaton Ranch

Our stake has been going to a place called Webster Flat for years and years.  Last year after camp it got shut down and we were told that we were going to have ward camp this year.  This came as a shock of course because after camp was over last year I felt like I was now a pro at Girl's Camp.  Now I'd have to start all over and plan a girl's camp on a ward level.  We had a hard time finding a place to go because all the other wards around here were scrambling to get a place.  We booked a place but were sad because we were only going to be able to stay for 2 nights.  Then, about 6 weeks before we were going to go to camp the opportunity came up to go to one of our camp director's family ranch up in the mountains.  And stay for 2 nights.  And stay in awesome cabins, canoe in the lake and have electricity.  (I had really originally wanted to tent camp, but I guess I am just a wuss because when the chance came up to go to a cabin, I took it!)

We explored Mammoth Caves

This was our theme for camp

Look at all these sweet and funny girls!
We had a really fun time at camp!  The leaders were all AWESOME and the girls were great too.  Nobody fought, and we just had a little bit of trouble due to some pranking and stuff.  The camp was beautiful, the food was great and it was really fun to "get away" for a couple of days (but boy, was it a lot of work!  Especially since we moved the dates up about 3 weeks and had to really bust our booties to get it done!)  Next year we will have stake camp again at a new place, so we have another new adventure ahead of of us.  They keep us hopping around here!

Sisters

Look at these cute cuddle bunnies!  I found them like this in our condo in Park City.  They were so snuggly and cute and I had to take their picture.  Even though they have very different personalities, and fight pretty much all the time, they are best buds.

Utah Olympic Park

The last day of our trip we stayed in Park City and went to the Olympic Park.  We rode the chair lift up the mountain and saw the bobsled and luge tracks.  After that we went to the museum there at the visitors center and saw a lot of info about skiing and Park City.  They also had people there, mostly kids who were training on ski jumping.  They ski down these big hills and do their tricks and land in the pool of water. That was fun to watch.

Isn't this fun!?
