Spring Break at Snow Canyon

Don't let the name of the post fool you.  There is no snow in this canyon.  Just lava tubes and sand dunes!
My friend Jodi told me about this place which is near St. George, and said it was a really fun place to go.  We took the fam and my nephew Spencer with us.

House Update

There have been some very  noticable changes at the house the last 2 weeks.  They brought in a ton (or more!) of dirt and filled in around the foundation and footings.  The very next day they started the framing.  They got the whole house framed in less than 2 weeks. It was really fun to go out every night to see what they had done that day.  Watching the house take shape and seeing all our rooms be built has been so much fun.

It is amazing how adding the roof makes it look so much more like a house.

Cousin Party

My nephew Sammy had a state wrestling match in Panguitch over the weekend. (Kent affectionately refers to this town as "Pang-town".  He has to go there sometimes to do work at the clinic there.)  Sam and Linda decided to make a little trip out of the way to come visit us and have some cousin time.   We ate pizza and swam in their hotel pool. Unfortunately it was cut short when Alayna started puking after dinner.  Erica came over and had a sleep over with Emilia and Elise.  It was sad that they didn't get to stay very long.

Ugliest Shirt Ever Made

Elise and I went to DI yesterday to look for a new crock pot lid.  While we were there we found the most amazing-Halloween-worthy rack of hideous shirts I have ever encountered at DI.  We decided to try find the ugliest shirt we could and we actually succeeded above and beyond by finding the ugliest shirt ever made.  Elise was totally mortified that I would put it on.   We also found the ugliest purse ever made.  Don't be fooled, yes it's black but it is all folded up like a diaper and you could actually fit two small children inside it when it is unfolded.  Kind of like Mary Poppins' carpet bag.  We now have a goal to go and find the ugliest shoes ever made, the ugliest skirt ever made etc. etc.

Happy B-day Emilia

This girl just turned 14!  She's growin up!  Now that she has her braces off she is starting to look so much older.  And starting high school next year.  *sniff sniff*.  Can't believe this girl is so grown up.

For her birthday she wanted to have some friends over for food and movies.   I made taquitos for the girls and they all brought a treat.  After dinner they played games and watched Frozen.  They pretty much had it all memorized. I could hear them in the other room quoting the entire movie.  It was pretty special.  And you don't even want to know about "Let it Go".  Ahh, the fun of being a teenager.  It was a lot of fun though having the girls over here. It brought back a lot of memories of being a giggly teen. (And really, it hasn't changed all that much has it?  Really?)

Nice photobombing Kent
